About MetricMind

Fantasy football,
watched closely.

MetricMind is a fantasy football research and analysis publication built around a simple idea: the box score tells you what happened. The way a team used its players can tell you what happens next.

What this is

Analysis, not another set of rankings.

There is no shortage of fantasy football information. Rankings, projections, box scores, injury reports and consensus opinions are everywhere.

The interesting part is figuring out what the information means.

MetricMind focuses on the things that can get lost underneath the final score — who was actually on the field, where they lined up, which personnel groups were used, where the targets went, what changed from the week before and whether any of it is likely to continue.

The analysis is the product. The rankings and tools are there to make it useful.

What we believe

Three things about fantasy football.

Usage comes first. Points follow.
Fantasy points tell you what already happened. Usage can tell you whether it is likely to happen again. Snaps, routes, alignments, personnel, designed touches and red-zone opportunities don't guarantee production, but they show what an offense is trying to do. That's usually where the interesting part starts.
The obvious names are not the advice.
Starting Josh Allen is not a decision. The value is finding the player whose situation changed before everyone notices, understanding when production is more fragile than it looks, and recognizing when the market hasn't caught up yet. That's why MetricMind spends more time investigating uncertain players than telling you things you already know.
Say how it went.
A good argument can still be wrong. A bad process can still get lucky. The only useful way to evaluate fantasy analysis is to keep the reasoning attached to the prediction and come back to it afterward. The goal isn't to pretend every call works. It's to figure out why it did or didn't and get better at making the next one.
The short version

Watch how teams actually use their players. Find what changed. Figure out whether it matters. Then check the work. That's MetricMind.
